Dawn Construction Completes new £8m BOC Facility

Dawn Construction has completed a new £8m project for gas supply company BOC at Cambuslang Investment Park.

The purpose-built facility was handed over ten days ahead of schedule and just 41 weeks after work began.

Working with Wilson Bowden on the project, Dawn is in the midst of extensive work at Cambuslang Investment Park. A number of new developments are being created to accommodate companies looking to relocate from the path of the planned M74 extension.

BOC – whose current base at Polmadie is on the route of the new motorway – will move into the purpose-built premises, incorporating a distribution warehouse, gas fill building and offices, trade sales outlet, vehicle maintenance unit, fuel and wash facility and all associated external works and parking areas, in April 07.

Ray Eve, managing director of Dawn Construction Ltd, said: “The facility was constructed to a very high specification and we are pleased that we were able to deliver it to BOC ten days ahead of schedule.

“This was the first time that we have worked with Wilson Bowden and we struck up a great relationship on the project. I’m sure we will be working together very soon on future projects.”

City Refrigeration is also using Dawn Construction to relocate its premises from the M74 route to a new state-of-the-art building at the corner of Caledonia Road and Crown Street. This £12 million project started on Easter Monday 2006 – April 17 – and is due to be completed by August 17 this year.

The Territorial Army have also relocated due to the new M74 and Dawn have recently completed a new centre at the Investment Park which comprised new bespoke buildings for the TA transportation division. The new centre accommodates administration, welfare, canteen/messing and training facilities (including a firing range) vehicle maintenance bays and storage. The project involved many client variations along the way and was still completed on time.
