Stanley Kids Have a Cracking Time with Dawn Construction

The Easter Break got off to an ‘egg-cellent’ start for youngsters from Stanley Primary as Primary One pupils took part in an Easter Egg Hunt competition around the school playground.

The 62 children were challenged by Dawn Construction, which is currently building a new school building for Stanley Primary as part of an £35m investment in North Ayrshire schools, to find as many eggs as possible.

Owen Phillips and Vincent Marchbank, both five from Ardrossan, won first prize and were presented with a sweet surprise – a bumper-sized egg to enjoy during the holidays – by Gordon Stewart, Dawn’s project manager for the new school building.
All Primary One pupils were presented with an Easter egg for their fantastic efforts but the easter egg-stravaganza didn’t end there as all 510 pupils at Stanley Primary received an Easter egg to get their holidays off to a smashing start.

Gordon said: “I am thrilled to see so many of the Primary One children at Stanley School get so excited about Easter. They all had a great time and tried very hard to find as many eggs as they could.

“Dawn Construction has worked hard to gain strong links with Stanley Primary School during the project, and we’re very pleased that the Easter Egg Hunt has proven to be such a success!”

Lachlan Martin, head teacher of Stanley Primary School, added: “The children get very excited at this time of year, especially when the holidays are approaching so I am very grateful for the support and generosity shown by Dawn Construction.

“We are all looking forward very much to seeing the new school completed and hope to continue with the great relationship we have with Dawn Construction during the remaining build period.”
