Dawn Construction’s £4.8m project to rejuvenate the House of Fraser building in Dundee has completed been completed.

 

The project saw the demolition of the existing House of Fraser building and the construction of a new five-storey retail development behind the retained façade. The building was granted planning permission and listed building consent, as well as consent for the construction of 7 new shops extending to approx 8,000 sqm. Dawn has worked closely with Historic Scotland and Dundee City Council to ensure key features such as the store’s ornate pillared tearoom, smoking room, dome and atrium are not just retained, but restored to their original glory.

 

The project brought this beautiful building back to its former glory and has breathed new life into the city centre.
