Group ChairmanAlan MacDonald

Alan was one of the founding Directors of the Dawn Group in 1972. In 2002 he bought out his 50% partner to take control of the Group. Over the years he has overseen a period of sustained growth as Dawn has been transformed into one of Scotland's most successful privately owned construction and property Groups with a turnover well in excess of £100m. Alan also acts as Managing Director of Dawn Developments and out-with Dawn is a Director of the Gorbals Initiative and Chairman of Ayr Racecourse.

Group Finance DirectorStewart Rough

Stewart joined Dawn as Group Finance Director during 2003.  He is responsible for the financial management and direction of the Group and its subsidiary companies.  Prior to joining Dawn, Stewart was Group Financial Controller at John Menzies plc the newspaper distribution and airport logistics group.  Before that he was Finance Director at Scottish Coal Limited having previously spent 8 years with the "top 4" accounting and business services firm Arthur Andersen.  Stewart is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland and holds an honours Law degree from The University of Edinburgh.

DirectorBarry Macdonald

Barry joined the Group in 1984, initially as a trainee engineer.  In 1989 he left to work for Gaines Construction plc in Australia before returning to Dawn about 2 years later.  Barry set up and was responsible for Dawn's small works division from 1992 to 1999 when took time out to gain an MSC in Business Development Practice from Glasgow Caledonian University.  As well as being a Group Director, Barry is responsible for land and property acquisitions and developments within Dawn Construction.

Managing Director Dawn ConstructionRay Eve

As Managing Director of Dawn Construction Ltd, Ray is responsible for the performance of the business including the establishment of strategic direction and development.   Over the last few years he has overseen the implementation of these strategic plans resulting in financial growth and an enhanced profile for the company.  Prior to taking up his current position with Dawn, he held the position of General Manager for Strongforce Engineering Plc at the O'Rourke group, and before this held a senior management position within Bovis Lendlease, operating throughout the UK.

Chairman Dawn HomesIan Mahon

Ian joined Dawn as Managing Director of Dawn Homes in April 1997. Prior to joining Dawn, Ian was initially Land and Development Director and subsequently Regional Director of the Scottish Division of Bellway Homes where he spent 17 years. Before that he was Development Manager of Leech Homes in Scotland having previously worked for 3 years with Glasgow District Council as a planning officer. Ian is a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and holds an honours degree in Geology and a postgraduate diploma in Town Planning from Queens University, Belfast.

Non-Executive DirectorRon Elder

Ron has a wide range of both Non Executive and Executive experience.  He is currently Chairman of AIM listed Netcall plc whom he joined after a period as Chief Executive Officer of property-asset management and Nasdaq-listed business, Omega Worldwide. Ron has also held senior executive positions with Zurich Financial Services, Crawfords ( a New York stock exchange listed company), The First Personal Bank (now G.E. Capital Bank) and Avis Europe.

Managing Director Dawn HomesMartin Egan

Martin Egan has recently been promoted to Managing Director from his former position of Technical Director. On his appointment, Martin stated, "Dawn Homes has grown considerably over the last ten years and in 2008, we are looking forward to expanding the business further, with eight new developments coming on stream in the near future, demonstrating our confidence in the market. I look forward to continuing to work with Ian [Mahon] in delivering further growth.’’
